Some of the problems discussed
at the first council meeting were
undue noise in the hall and on
the stairways, behavior on buses
and the misuse of furniture glid

on boys’ shoes. It was moved
that a committee go through the
classrooms and remove all taps
of this type. The motion was
passed and taps have been re

Yell leader try-out were held
before the student body on Oc
tober 5. The yell leader candid
ates from the 6th grade were

Donna Johnson. Those trying out
in the 7th grade were Pat Sears,
Mary Huber, Connie Morris and
Judy Kimmey. The 8th grade
also had four candidates, Sharlla
Blake, Daleen Clement, Marilyn
Hixson and Joan Skov. In the
voting the 8th grade group came
out victorious. Joan Skov was
elected yell queen.
The Huskies dropped a game
to Jacksonville by one point, the
score being 13-14. The next foot
ball game will be with Prospect
on Friday, October 14, at home.
The game will be played on the
field across from the cement
plant.
BROTHER VISITS
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Thompson
of Upland, Calif., and theiu
daughter, Dorothy, who is pub

Home Extension
To Meet on Wed.
Central Point Home Extension
Unit will meet next Wednesday,
October 19, at the grange hall
with Mrs. B. Smith and Mrs.
E. L. Sands as hostesses.
Coffee hour will be from 10
to 10:20 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. a
short eye-opener will be given
on gift wrapping by Mrs. Harry
DeVore as project leader.
This meeting will also feature
basket weaving. Project leaders
will be Mrs. Roberta Hill and
Bernice Garden.
The articles needed flor the
project are: 1 shallow pan, 2
sponges or cloths, single edge
razor blade, wire cutter, board,
2 rulers, ice pick, round nosed
pliers, plastic apron, towel, gloves.
Cost of the material will be about
50 cents.
A noon luncheon will be served
for a fee of 50 cents. Child care
will be handled by Mrs. Eunice
Jones. More toys are needed.

Two Sisters Meet
After 45 Years
Two sisters met for the first
time in 45 years last Sunday
evening whes Mrs. Jean Drew
of Bloomington, Calif., arrived
in Central Point to visit her sis
ter, Mrs. C. L. Munn.
The two women had not seen
each other for 45 years. The last
time they had been together
was in Rose, Nebraska.
Accompanying Mrs. Drew were
her two daughters, Mrs. J. Jes
sen and Miss Pat Satterlee, also
of Bloomington. Mrs. Munn had
never seen these women before.
The three visitors left Tues
day morning to visit friends in
Eugene. They will return to the
Munn home this weekend for a
short visit before returning home.
