THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY
OF CENTRAL POINT DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. WHEREAS, the City
Council did heretofore by Ordin­
ance declare its intention to con­
struct concrete curbs and gut­
ters on 8th Street from Pine
Street to Laurel Street in the
City of Central Point, Oregon;
and to assess the cost thereof
upon each lot or part thereof
adjacent to and benefited by
such improvement its propor­
tionate share of the cost of said
concrete curbs and gutters, and
did fix the time and place for
hearing protests against the
construction of said concrete
curbs and gutters, and the as­
sessment of the cost thereof, as
aforesaid, and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance
was duly posted and published
as required by the Charter of
the City, and
WHEREAS a meeting of the
Council was held at the time
and place fixed in said Ordin­
ance for the purpose of consid­
ering any such protests, but no
protests were at such time, or
at any time, made to, or receiv­
ed by the Council to the con­
struction of said concrete curbs
and gutters, or the assessing of
the cost thereof as aforesaid, and
said Council has considered the
matter and deeming that said
construction of said concrete
curbs and gutters was and is of
material benefit to said city, and
that all the property to be as­
sessed therefor will be benefited
thereby to the extent of the
probable amount of the respec­
tive assessments to be levied
against said property, did order
the construction of said concrete
curbs and gutters, and
WHEREAS, the cost of said
concrete curbs and gutters has
been and hereby is determined
to be the sum of $2,564.71.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is here­
by determined that the propor­
tionate share of the cost of con­
struction of said concrete curbs
and gutters, on each parcel of
property adjacent to said im­
provement and benfited thereby
is the amount set opposite the de­
scription of each piece or parcel
of land below, and that each
piece or parcel of land is bene­
fited by the construction of said
concrete curbs and gutters, to
the full extent of the amount
so set opposite such piece or par­
cel and that the respective
amounts represent the propor­
tional benefits of said concrete
curbs and gutters to said respec­
tive parcels of property, and the
Council does hereby declare each
of the parcels of property de­
scribed below, and each of the
same is hereby assessed the
amount set opposite each respec­
tive description, for the cost of
the construction of said concrete
curbs and gutters.
That the following is a sum­
mary of assessment for construc­
tion of concrete curbs and gut­

Vaughns Give Party
On New Year’s Eve

EAGLE POINT—A lovely New
Years eve party was held at
the Vinson Vaughn home Fri­
day evening with about 36 at­
tending. They started the even­
ing with dinner at 8 p.m. Then
a cartoonist did drawings. At
midniglft, they served hot cider
and doughnuts.
Everyone is glad to hear Rose­
mary Ashpole is recovering nice­
ly from her operation which she
had during the holidays.
Congratulations are also in
store for Mrs. Maxine Berry­
man and the late Robert Berry­
man on the arrival of a son.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilderbrund
entertained the family of Mr.
and Mrs. D. F. Pulley for a
lovely holiday dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Berryman Sr. of
Long Beach, Calif., are guests
of Mrs. Maxine Berryman.
The Eagle Point town basket­
ball team played Prospect here
Thursday evening, January 6, at

are the parents of a son born
in Community hospital in Bed­
ford, Monday, January 10. The
ycung lad has been named Brent
Cary and weighed eight pounds
and six ounces. Mellbye is on the
coaching staff at Crater High.
HOME TO WASHINGTON
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Carter and
laughter of Bremerton, Wash., re­
turned to their home last Friday
after visiting for several weeks
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Freeman of Wilson
