Plans Rummage

APPLEGATE—Applegate HEU
met last Friday at the home of
Mrs. Arion Christensen. Sixteen
ladies of the unit were present.
Members have decided on a rum
mage sale to be held November
13 at the school cafeteria. Coffee
and cake will be sold.
Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Matheny
and son, Bruce, of San Diego,
Calif., and Mr and and Mr. and
Mrs. P. E. Matheny and Leon
Matheny <rf Jacksonville were
dinner guests Tuesday night at
the Jack O’Brien home.
Mrs. Mildred Smith of near
Ruch has recently returned from
the hospital. She is not well
enough to have callers but a get
well card would certainly cheer
her up.
William Lorsungs of Thomp­
son Creek road have returned
from their hunting trip on Yamcy
mountain in eastern Oregon.
With 11 members in their party,
they brought back eight bucks.
Applegate football team play­
ed a close game of tag football
at Williams, Oregon, Friday af­
ternoon. Quite a number of
rootin’ mothers turned out to
cheer their favorite team on to
victory.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Krouse
and Mrs. Arion Christensen and
two sons left Sunday for Port­
land to attend the PI. Philip
Krouse and David Christensen
have steers entered there.
GUARDIAN COUNCIL MEET

Daughters will hold their regular
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Everett Faber at 8 p.m. Wed­
nesday, October 27.
GENERAL 4 H MEET
General meeting of 1 H clubs
will be held rt the Grange hall
at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 26.
The purpose of this meeting is
clect’on of officers and to make
r.l»ns to organize new clubs.
BUYS APARTMENTS
J. W Moore of 611 South
Riverside, Medford, purchased on
October 1 the court apartments
at Third and Manzanita. The two
unit courts have been named
Central Duplex Homes by
Moore. He was unavailable for
comment this week and his plans
for the units are unknown.
GIRL FOR YOUNGS
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Arthur
Young of Central Point are par­
ents of a daughter born October
17 at Sacred Heart hospital in
Medford. Birth weight was seven
and one-half pounds.
GASCON GIRL BORN
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gascon
of Route 2, Central Point, are
parents of a daughter bom Oc­
tober 17 at Community hospital.
The young lady weighed six and
one-half pounds.

Rounds at TR

TABLE ROCK—The Sams Val­
ley Church basket, which has
been making her rounds in Table
Rock, has been returned to the
home territory. We hope it will
be a big boost to the new church
under construction.
A belated birthday party was
held Thursday evening for Ray
Doran. Those present were: Mr.
and Mrs. H. Sharp and children;
Mr. and Mrs. David Doran and
daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Dale
Schulz; Dan Doran, and Mrs.
Ray Doran and Linda.
Bill Bishop and son, Mark,
spent Friday to Sunday in east­
ern Oregon hunting.
The Ed Robinson barn is be­
ing fitted with a new aluminum
roof.
Mrs. Marsha Schulz will be
associated with the office 2orce
of the Mogan Lumber Co. at
White City beginning Monday,
October 18.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sage at­
tended a party Friday evening
at the home of Dr. and Mrs.
Dierdorff in Medford.
Mrs. Mary Howsley attended
the Women’s Auxiliary at Camp
White Friday evening.
Mrs. Marie Harper has a very
bad case of poison oak which
she acquired on a recent hunt­
ing trip with her husband.

Bobby Bray has been in San
Francisco for medical treatment.
He has been ill for a year with
rheumatic fever.
Ladies Club was held at the
Doris Nealon home Wednesday,
October 13, with Violet Hamil­
ton assisting. New officers were
elected. They are: Anita Wheel­
er, president; Ruth Brown, sec­
retary. Club sisters were reveal­
ed and new ones drawn.
