All regular officers of the
bethel, except two, were present.
Reports were given on the suc
cessful conclusion of the candy
sale. Activities planned for the
future are a line party to he held
Thursday evening, Octobt.- 21,
and a Halloween party to be
held Thursday evening, October
28, at which members of the
Crater chapter of the Order of
the DeMolay will be special
guests.
Committee for the evening was
headed by Nadra Moore and
Mrj. Earl Moore. They were as
sisted by Maxine Day, Carolyn
Stevenson and Mrs. Carroll
Stevenson.
CALIFORNIA BIRTHDAY
Mrs. Eva Cambpell and daugh
ter, Mrs. Opal McCartney, visit
ed last weekend in Redway,
Calif., with Mrs. Campbell’s sis
ters, Mrs. C. E. Blanchard and
Miss Leona Finch. A birthday
dinner in honor of Miss Finch
was enjoyed.
Navy Mothers Change
Monthly Meeting
Navy Mother’s club met for a
business and social meeting with
Mrs. E. T. Taylor recently.
In the future, meetings will
be held only on the second Wed
nesday of each month. A new ad
jutant, Mrs. Betty Kreisher, was
elected to replace Mrs. Ingrid
Kurz who resigned.
Mrs. Eva Campbell served re
freshments. She was assisted by
Mrs. Grace Shrier.
The next meeting will be held
November 10 at the home of Mrs.
Rachel Gish.
Kathy Glenn Honored
On Third Birthday
Kathy Glenn, three year old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Glenn, was honored with a birth
day party at her home Wednes
day, October 13.

Cindy Ryerson, Timmie and Gary
Sharpe, Larry and Gregory Glenn
all of Central Point, and Beverly

State Prexy Honored
At Relief Corps Meet
STUDENTS TO SKATE
The William Harrison Woman’s
Relief corps met in the Legion
Memorial hall Tuesday, October
19, to honor the state president,
Florence Wick, of Portland.
Dinner was served at noon to
12 members of the corps, to the
honored guest and to one visitor,
Edward Jones.
President Wick left shortly
after the business meeting to
continue on to Roseburg and Co
quille.
Two members from Medford
arrived later in the afternoon
(for the business session. The
group, which is meeting once
a month during the winter, will
convene next on November 16
at the Legion hall.
Present for this meeting were:
Junior high school students
will hold a skating party Mon
day, October 25, at the Roller
Dome in Grants Pass. Present
plans are to leave here by school
bus at 5:30 p.m. Skating will
be from 6:30 to 8:30 and the
busses will arrive here at about
9:15. The entire junior high fac
ulty and Principal C. A. Meyer
will accompany the classes.

Myrtle Point Tuesday where she
delivered a speech before the
Wesleyan Service Guild.

Celebrates Birthday
Mrs. Charles Meyer took first
prize Tuesday evening at the
gathering of the bridge club at
the home of Mrs. Warren L. Hol
brook on Table Rock road.
Mrs. H. P. Jewett took the
low prize and Mrs. Clarence
Mellbye won the traveling prize.
Others attending the bridge
club gathering were Mrs. Leon
ard Kunzman, Mrs. Leonard
Warren and Mrs. Bill Ruck and
Mrs. Jerry McDougal, both of
Meford.

day by entertaining a group of
her young friends at her home
Friday, October 8.
Youngsters attending the birth-
