    THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 21. 1950
CENTRAL POINT AMERICAN. CENTRAL POINT. OREGON
'ORLD SERIES—
The 1950 World Senes will open
in the park of the National League
winner, Wednesday, October 4th at
1:00 p.m.
The starting date ter this classic
was announced by baseball com-
missioner Chandler after he met
with representatives of the big
leagues. Chandler said that in event
of a tie in the Natioal League and a
resulting three game playoff, the
World Series would start one day
later on October 5th. The American
League rules provide for a single
game playoff in event of a tie, so
the World Series would start as
scheduled.
The first two games will be play
ed in the National League park and
the next three, if all are needed, in
the Amer ican League winner’s park.
If more games are necessary, the
teams will return to the National
League park. Chandler said no day
off for travel would be taken unless
it is an East-West series.
