their victory over Camas Valley.
Although the Pointers have a new
coach this year, there is no reason
why they shouldn't support the team,
in its efforts to win the conference.
Since both the Pointers and Gold
Hill finished with good records last
year, the game tomorrow night will
more than likely turn out to be a
whalo of a battle on the part of both
teams, for both teams will be shoot
ing for their first conference win of
this season.

Last Friday night Central Point
entertained a Camas Valley team in
the Pointers' first basketball game of
the season, winning 51-10.
This game, which was played on
the Pointers' floor, was a lightning
fast game on the part of the Pointers.
At the start of the game bo.li
teams moved rather sluggishly, wjth
the Pointers having a slight margin.
About mid-way through the first
quarter Camas tied Central Point at
6-6. Here, however, the visitors began
to falter and fall apart at the seams,
At the end of the first quarter
the Pointers led 13-6.
The beginning of the second quar
ter was fast, but Camas couldn't keep
control of the ball. The Pointers be
gan pulling away, and ut intermis-
sion led 27-9.
From here on out the game began
to turn into a rout. Half way through
the third periofl the Pointer seconds
took over and kept right on making
baskets and holding Camas scoreless
to make the score 39-9 at the start
of the fourth and final period.
In the fourth period Central Point
still remained on the offensive with
the first string back in the game. Tile
Pointers scored almost contlnously
right up to the final gun; and, as the
game ended, the Pointers had opened
