Every time with a hesitating
heart I turned over to read Billy
Hulen’s sport column iu the (aint
hope that he may have forgotten
all about the affair at the state
tournament, only to find him still

the General died soon after. His
wife soon followed him to the grave.
His brother, J. O. Taylor, now liv

place after his brother's death and
a short time after Mrs. Taylor's
death, while spading in the garden,
found a gold wedding ring. He
gave It to his wife. Later his
daughter called attention to the fact
that the ring bore the initials of his
brother and wife.
Investigation
showed that it was the wedding ring
purchased by Lieutenant Tavlor in
1871.
Mrs. Taylor still wears the ting,
although it is.w orn very thin and
has to be worn behind a guard ring
for protection.
You see, the other day Coach
Schillings of Butte Fulls said at the
dinner that his contact with Medford
people have changed his views of the
people in Medford where in his old
days as a student at Ashland high,
he had been taught to regard Med

Another Ring
Story is Told
J. G Taylor of this city brings to
us another story of a Ioug lost ring
being found. The ring was a wed
ding ring once belonging to Mr.
Taylor's brother and after the W a
ter's death was found in the garden
of the old home.
A. C. Taylor, original owner of
the ring, enlisted in the Union
army in 1861.
After fighting
throughout the war, the young man
decided to remain in the army and
was sent to Texas, where he stayed
a number of years. At that time he
was a First Lieutenant. I,ater h"
was stationed for a time in Alaska,
from which he returned In 1871.
While stationed at Vancouver he
met and fell in love with a young
lady from Walla Walla, and they
were married at the latter city the
same year.
After 27 years of happy married
