NOTES
.Many of the farmers in the valley
are pleased that Old Mother Nature
has been on their side by permitting
them to put in their hay without
rain that would have spoiled the
crop.
Virgil Edington, who is working
at Sawyer's Bar, spent the week end
visiting relatives in this community.
The Ladies' Club met at Mrs. Hin­
nies' Thursday afternoon. The busi­
ness meeting wa somitted and a very
i njoyable time was spent playing
games in the shade of several large
laurel trees in the front of the yard.
Delicious refreshments were served
by the hostesses, Mrs. Kinnie and
Mrs. McDonough.
Mrs. Jo hn Hall spent from Thurs­
day tu Saturday visiting relatives of
her husband's in Salem and Corval­
lis. She and Mrs. Lindley of Medford
traveled in Mrs. Dudley's car. Mrs.
Hall, reports a very enjoyable ti n t;
and a very nice trip, us the scenery
at this time of year is so beautiful.
She was taken to the poor farm by
her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jo hn Palmer.
Grange met Saturday night at the
school auditorium. Donna Straus and
Earl Weever were elected Lecturer
and Secretary In Mrs. E. W. Empey
and Elsie Strauss places, who resign­
ed their offices as they are leaving.
Mrs. Empey Is leaving for pleasant
Hill, and Miss Straus is leaving for
Berkeley, California very soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Jo hn Halst left Sut-
usday enroute to The Dallas where
they will attend the Oregon State
Grange meeting. They will travel on
to see their daughter and family
who live near Seattle before they re­
turn home.
Lindsay Hulston of this country
left for Fort Klamath Sunday where
lie will be employed in woods at the
Algotna mills.

The county grader completed the
grading of the Antelope ni>»> Thurs­
day and the road is now in excellent
condition.
Phil Wert* killed the first rattle­
snake of the season last week. Sever­
al others have be-n seen but they
mqved too swift for the hands of
man.

made his first trip through to the
end of route in hie car Thursday.

Mrs. Meda Comstock and small
granda lighter, Je an Mei, returned
home Friday from a week's visit
with friends and relatives in Medford
Mr. and Mrs. T it. Kinney of
Ashland and Mr. N. R. Hansen of
Central Point were dinner guests of
Mr and Mrs L. H Wert* Sunday.

Miss Norma Sage returned horn*
Saturday after spending a week in
Medford with her sister Mrs. Howard
Gault.
Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Davison are
visiting this wei-k in Portland, with
their daughter Mrs. Margret Myers
and family. While there the Davisons
attended the graduation exercises of
their grandaughter Miss Je a n Myers.
Mr. Robnett is a graduate of Ore­
gon Institute of Technology and i»
with the Cunocar Accounting com­
pany in Berkeley, Cal. A wedding
supper followed at the Leamington
hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Hurlburt accompani­
ed their daughter south for the wed­
ding.
Mr. Robnett is a son of Mr. and
Mrs.
I. C.
Robnett and spent
many years of his life here. His fa­
ther was in business
