The bullet passed diagonally thru the w indshield, and grazed the win dow edge. A hurried search brought no trace of the gunner. Monday afternoon, Kdward Scrib ner, 17. of Phoenix, and tw o boy com panions were shooting at tin cans, with a .22 calibre rifle. Scriv- ner w as talking, when the lad with the gun turned around to en ga g e *n the conversation. The gun was ac-1 «•¡dentally discharged, the bullet strik in g Scrivner in the knee-cap, cau sin g the bullet to be diverted to I the back of the knee. Dr. Harold B. Cillls, who attended j said the wound was superficial. T h e 1 bullet was removed and Scrivner will su ffer no ill-effects. B rew old -K abele R ites Event of W ed n esd ay P. M. In a 3 o'clock cerem ony W ednes day afternoon, Miss Irene Urewold, d au gh ter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bre- wold became the bride o f Martin Ka- bele, son of Rev. and Mrs. George P. Kabele. The cerem ony was so lem n ized in the Zion Lutheran church with Rev. Kabele reading the ser vice. Miss Brewold named as her a t ten d an ts her sister, Miss Edna Bre wold, as bridesmaid, and Mrs. M. C. Barcus, another sister, as matron- of-honor. Little Miss Shirley Marie Barcus was flower girl and Rev. Harry Allen of Seattle attended the groom as best man. Miss Brewold, a graduate of Med ford high school and of the Sou th ern Oregon Normal school, is well- know n here, where she has been a member of the school faculty. The groom has been attending ministerial college near Chicago, 111., and was ordained in May. The young couple will make their hom e in B a r bel, 111. Invitations were issued to a large number o f g uests for the w eddng ceremony. She was awarded a cash prize. The letter from the m agazine sta t ed Mrs. von der H ellen ’s house was adjudged the best in the northwest sta tes division. Judges w ere Lewis K W alsh, architect, and W allace Ashby of the U. S. departm ent of a g riculture with Mrs. Nell B. Nichols and Andrew S.
