The Am erican has maintained Its leadership throughout tbe depression because it has the courage ot its convictions. CENTRAL POINT, ORKOON, TM I HSD.AY, APRIL », l»:»i VOM MK V ili M u s i n 1fHE AMERICAN! Law is Passed Forbidding Loose WELL ATTENDED Dogs in City 1 g s - ^ by an Innocent Bystander We have been thanking our lucky »tars the past few days that no long er do we have to worry over school affairs. It appears the boys on the board stirred up a toy cyclone over the m atter of hiring teachers for next year. But the m atter has been m ore or less am icably adjusted and so far no one has been shot. But at least they succeedd In getting some of the folks to take interest enough to call on the board and express their opinions, which is what we used to holler about when we, too, carried our share of the burden. • • • There is no more thankless job on the face of the earth, than that of school director. As a rule the peo ple of the district do all their advis ing behind the backs of the board and very seldom com e out In th# open and tell them what they would like the board to do. School boards are not mind readers and merely stum ble along as best they may, do ing what they deem best for the school. But be they ever so conscleu- teous, there are tim es they would welcom e expressions from the tax payers as to what should be done. ■ ■ --------------- » t LDI ■ I If you have news Items w t »III appreciate their receipt by W ednesday evening.
