The event is in the hands o f G o d .” George Washington, see W ill Orgon never get tired of springing surprises on us in the way of weather? It has been many a year since we have had so much snow so late in the year. To the best of our recollection it was in the first or second week of February, 1930 that we had snow enough to slide on. Cut we have found that this valley is a law unto itself when it comes *o weather. Conditions which apply to other parts of the country do not t*t here and the weather man just runs hog-wild. • • • But when all is said and done, it is our opinion that this is a hard country to beat for all-year-round weather. W e have done quite a bit of wandering up and down this vale of tears, but 80 far we have found no place to beat Southern Oregon aj a pleasant place in which to live. They used to say that our climate was almost exactly like that of Flor ence, Italy, but siuce the coming of Mussolini we hate to hear that we have anything in common with that benighted country. • * • Beats all how many people read our weekly scribbling. A couple of weeks ago we spoke o f finding a place where one could cut wood at a very low price and not too far from town. And almost every day since then we have been asked by people we never saw before just where that wood was to be fouud. Guess we will have to call on the owner of that woodland and see if we cannot get a commission for sending her so many customers. At any rate we are' glad to be of ser vice to those who are unfortunate enough to have to go out and cut wood this time of year. • • • We are tempted to say a word in self defense. We have been censored for printing the new Townsend pa per, The Times. In the first place we fail to see that it is "any skin o ff the NE<4 of the SWI4 of section 16, Township 37 .South, of anyone's aua- tom y.'' as W illiam Allen W hite said the other day, whether we do or don't. But Just to keep the record clear, we will say that we are print ing the Times just as we would print any other piece of commercial print ing. And as Mr. Dooley once said about the celebration of Queen Vic toria's Diamond Jubilee, " F 'r mesilf, I have no feelin' on the subject . . . I won’t march in the parade, and I won’t put any dinnymite undb.r thim that does. I don't say the mar chers an’ dinnymiters ar-re not both right.
