Each year we set aside the time from just before Christmas to just after New Years as a sort of glorified holiday. Just for that short time we look at each oth r as brothers and sisters We search the shops for gifts for friends and re latives and even for those whom we do not know. We contribute to all sorts of funds for the helping of the needy, especially the children • • • Hut how many of us care a darn wha becomes of those same children after the holiday season Is over? Miller, aged 0 '*, whose address is R. 1., Box 161, has her picture aud a letter describing a trip she and her mother made re cently in the December issue of CHILD LIFE, a magazine for chil dren. Miss Miller is a member of the Child Life Ben aud Pencil club. The letter is reprinted here: "I wish to write a letter to you about the trip my mother, brother and I took one summer. "W e followed the Old Oriqtou Trail to Illinois. It was a great help In history and geography. While we were there, we visited many rela tives in surrounding states. Illinois t* my mother’s home state. "W e visited A Century of Pro gress. it was a great adventure. We saw and visited many parks and mu seums aud enjoyed them all, especi ally Lincoln Park in Chicago. My fa ther couldn't go with us. so when we got home we told him all about our trip. We were gone two and a half months. "I am enclosing a picture of my brother Jim, our pets and myself, taken last spring. We lived in the Cascade Mountains then; we now live In the famous Rogue River Val ley near Medford, Oregon.
