C o o k . — Approximately fifty mem ber» o f the “ Who Do” class o f the Methodist church gathered at the pleasant home of Mrs. Frank Davis on Scenic Drive last Satur day afternoo« honoring Mrs. Warren Cook in a farewell party. Mrs. Cook, who has been an active member o f the “ Who Do" class for several years left on Monday for Grants Pass where she will make her future home. Her husband being placed in charge of the branch house being established in that city by the Enders’ Wholesale company. A very interesting program was delivered during the afternoon, during which the family album's leaves were turned Dy Mrs. Ralph Billings, with various mem bers acting M the capacity of photographs. As Mrs. Billings turned the leaves o f the old al bum, she revealed some o f the characteristics o f those whose faces appeared upon its pages interspersing humorous and in teresting bits of history. Miss Jean Anderson favored with a vocal solo and Miss Swails gave a musical reading. A handsome flower bowl filled with fragrant violet^ was pre sented by the members o f the class to Mrs. Cook in apprecia tion o f her work with them dur ing the past few years and hold ing the wish that she might find happiness snd success in her new home. Late in the afternoon the host ess, Mrs. Davis, served dainty re freshments. Old Resident H on ored . — Mrs. Will Dodge entertained with a twelve o’clock luncheon Tuesday, March 6, in honor o f Mrs. LeRoy Hicks, who was called here re cently from Pittsburg, Pennsy lvania, by the death of her father, A. E McFarland. Covers were laid for four at a table perfectly appointed and beautiful with a centerpiece o f spring flowers. Mrs. Hicks resided in Ashland for a number of years before moving to Pitts burg, and has many friends in this city. She haa been staying at the home o f her husband’s aunt, Misa Blanche Hicks, while in Ashland. Chairmen o f the various units represented, gave reports on the work being accomplished in their particular locality. Mrs. Noblitt, financial secretary o f the asso ciation made a most encouraging report, showing that the money expended had done much in this line o f effo rt already, stressing the dental clinic as an important phase of work being taken up by the County Health association. Mrs. Alice Holloway, county chairman for the seal sales, gave out in her talk that the sale of seals had greatly increased dur ing the last few years, each suc ceeding year showing a marked increase over the former one. Besides the above r nneTuJJJ the aged mother of Mrs. Miss Carlton, president o f the association, had prepared an in teresting questionnaire for the entertainment o f the afternoon, giving out various questions per taining to the work outlined by the officers, to the different mem bers, the answers being correctly written for the benefit o f those present. This mode o f entertain ment proved most instructive and comprehensive. A t the close o f the afternoon, Mrs. Kenly served dainty refresh ments to the assembled ladies and a pleasant social hour was enjoyed. Ashland was represented by Mesdames C. F.
