Stanley. ----------* --------- IS YOUR W I F E T H E W IS E R ? If you read only certain parts of the new spaper in which you are especially interested and your wife is like other women, she is wiser than you. She reads the shopping news. She like to hear yxu jingle mon« y in your pockets. She H u s to stretch money to thc- lim it, so she won’t have to ask fo r more. She likes to shop strategically. To know what she does. C om fortably at home in a cushioned arm chair, she scuns the advertising columns. She com pares, judges and selects the goods she desires; maps her ro u te; with the least e ffo rt and the minimum of time, goes di rect to the stores she planned to visit and buys. She obtains what she w ants at the lowest prices offered. She is certain of full satisfaction, fo r she knows advertised goods live up to th eir claims. She saves time and steps and retu rn s home sufficiently alert to prepare you aii appetizing dinner. The advertisem ents in this paper are w ritten for your bene fit, too. Read them. Help your wife help you to save. Buying advertised goods is a bond in vestm ent— not a stock specual- tign. * m easurable progress along tftat line, to be sure. A century ago th e sav ings banks deposits in this country were less than $1,250,000; ,today they are about $25,000,000. Seventy years ago there were 8635 deposit ors in savings in stitutions; today these have increased to 40,000,000. The size and num ber of banks and sim ilar financial organizations have increased trem endously in recent years, and a glance a tt he daily news dispatches indicates th at this expan sion has by no means reached its maximum. In the m atter of dollars and cents we as a nation are becom ing well placed in the th rifty class. -------------* ------------- God bless the smiling optim ist, the mar. of hope and cheer, Who brings us sweet encourage ment, and helps to banish fear. Hi» presence warms like sunshine, his words refresh like dew; God bless the smiling optim ist, and help you be one, too. God bless the smiling optim ist— so resolute and brave— Who, when he faces difficulties, does not fume and rave, But, calm and strong, he m eets them, daily winning victories new ; God bless the smiling optim ist, and help you be one, too. God bless the smiling optim ist, we love him, one and all; Our door to him is open, fo r we like to have him call; His rad ian t face is joy to us, his heart is kind and tru e; God bless the smiling optim ist, and help you be one, too. God bless the smiling optim ist, and g ran t him many years Of life on earth, and then a home beyond the shining spheres; And there he’ll find a welcome which will ring all heaven th ro u g h ; God bless the smiling optim ist, and help you be one, too.
