the subject: Men’s Responsibility to
the Church; and among other things
he emphasized the responsibility o f
the father in the home, first. He
showed that as the church is God-
ordained, and stands fo r the very
best in all that concerns us„ it is im
possible to be a true Christian and be
indifferent to the needa o f the souls
o f the children. A touching illustra
tion o f th* thought was given in an
incident out o f his own life, when,
after his mother had died, his father
a true Christian man, kneeled in
prayer fo r guidance, with the little
son on on* aide and the little daugh
ter on the other. We can not guide
these children aright without help
from God.
Another thought developed eras
that the Christ life within the soul
will naturally want to find expression
in servile to others. W e are saved to
serve. W e save ourselves by believ
ing in Jesus Christ W e save others
by serving with Jesus. This time is
most opportune fo r men to serve in
many practical ways, in extending
the kingdom o f our Lord.
