the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence la
being celebrated. The “shot” was made from outside the gates and shews the
long sweep of hletorU: Broad street, the main artery of the exposition. To the
left can be seen one of the capitols of the Palace of Liberal Arts and Manu­
factures which covers nearly eight acres of grounds and which houses some
