In order that somebody may not brand us as extremist, we w ill
make it 99W. But like it or not, we frankly adm it that it is a

tory of America has so successfully achieved substantial advances
toward its objective. Its objective is to change America into a
Gttoai Society, powered and ruled and controlled in every detail
from one central bureaucracy. The leaders of the bureaucracy
are not hesitant to explain that the American people have proved
themselves incapable of taking care of themselves in anything
lik e a correct way; which links up with the further explanation
that the self-constituted bureaucracy has secured to itself total
competence for the job of nation-nursing they have condescend
ingly set for themselves.
Please do not misunderstand. We do not believe that these
people, in appointing themselves to such a monumental task,
ever dreamed of or intended to destroy Am erica. They were
born here, but their knowledge of Americanism is strictly in te l-
lectu al--an d they don't like it. It would have been different
had they acquired a heart knowledge of Americanism. They
love America; almost none of them would ever consent to move
to Russia. But to them there is a vast difference between Amer
ica and Americanism. Since their intellectual knowledge of
Americanism leads them to dislike it, they have determined to
save the America they love by changing it into The Great Soci
ety, never realizing that the accomplishment of their objective
carries out the destruction of the Americanism which has made
America great.
Of course, we cannot prove this hypothesis; we are just g iv-
[ing them the benefit of the doubt. For if the hypothesis is not
correct, there could possibly be only two other motives for their
erosion of Americanism. One of these we brush aside as un
reasonable and altogether untenable; they have never harbored
Vany slightest treasonable intentions against the United States.
'W hich leaves only one feasible motive: Having proved to them
selves that they are in possession of total and peculiar redemp
tive knowledge and destiny, they sense within themselves a con
sciousness of something akin to the age-old conception of divine
rigRt succession, from the responsibility of which they are un
able and unwilling to escape.
A peculiar attribute is their liberalism . Since their number
embraces every phase of American life , the theories of the bus
iness man may not have the approval of the politician; the theo
ries of the architect may meet disapproval on the part of the ed
ucator and the theories of the religionist may not suit the econo
mist. But as long as any of those theories point down the road
that leads to their mutual objective, the spirit of tolerant liber
alism is on display. Only when an "outsider" has the tem erity
to utter protesting conclusions do any of the elite veer from their
dais of liberalism and cast aspersions of calumny against the
"ignorant and uninformed" culprit. (A case in point was the
G oldw ater-M iller effort in 1964.)
A broad front of action against Americanism has been in mo
tion for a number of years. Religion, constituted authority and
private owne- P’p have been adorned with a ll too many jagged
scars. Currently the skirmishes of the last few years against pri
vate business have resolved into a consolidated putsch against
our free economy. It is actually amazing that our republican
government in this land of the free deliberately sett out to ha-
rass, debilitate, m utilate and eventually destroy our American
free economy by the simple expedient of forcing it under the
choking control of federal bureaucracy. But it is happening.
