figure* have been released
by the First National Bank
of Oregon's 107 offices
throughout the state.
The Central Point branch
reported deposits of $5, 410r
134 and loans of $5, 889, 469
as of December 31, accord­
ing to Branch Manager F.
Clifford Ayres.
Comparable totals for the
branch a year ago were
$4, 343, 861 In deposit* and
$5,120, 925 in loans.
The statewide banking
system registered gains of
12.1 per cent in deposit*
and 1 5 .7 per cent in loan*.
New figures are $1,269, -

FOUND IN OLD G R A V E --This 'working action' of an ancient rifle was found in an unidentified r a v e , believed to be that
of an early day pioneer in the Central Point area. It was unearthed recently when contractors digging for a water main
picked it up with a back-hoe. Solid bran, the case is almost good as new, but the steel parts have rutted away. (Note
the remain* of the trig g e r.) The relic was brought to the times office by Central Point Police Sergeabt Jim Corliss.
