unable to cope with it and went
down to defeat 43-81
In the last five of 13 matches
the Comets pinned their G riz ­
zly opponents. They also gain­
ed five decisions and one fo r­
feit when 80-pound Jay Sherard
injured his left arm in the
opening bout
Although Ashland made some
valiant efforts they were only
able to obtain eight points on a
4-0 decision by Steve Rost over
Jack lees and a forfeit In the
106 weight division
because
C rater did not enter a wrestler.
PLEASANT SURPRISE!
Mr. and M rs. E .E . Fields were in for a plea­
sant su rp rise last Friday night when a knock
came at their door. When they opened it, whom
did they find standing there to greet them but
their son and family, Lt. and M rs. Ron E.
Fields and daughters, Jody and Julie from Myr­
tle Beach, South Carolina, where the Lieuten­
ant has been stationed with the U.S. Army.
At the present time they are houseguests in
the Field’s home and are alos visiting her p a r­
ents, Mr. and Mrs. H .E . Nulton of Medford.
M rs. Fields and the children will remain in
this area while Lt. Fields is on remote duty
(Fire Island) in Alaska. His tour of duty there
is expected to be about one year.
At the present time he is on a 30 day leave.

WHAT IS IT?
M rs. Don Sprinkle reports to this office that
she has a houseplant which reaches the ceiling
that bloomed about 3 weeks ago for the first
tim e. The plant is a relative of the split-leaf
philodendron family. The blossom resembled
a lily, pink with a purple color inside the petals.
