Youngsters are only earning extra money during a time when they would be otherwise unemployed Berry and bean picking are hardly hazardous industries and yet under some proposals the farmer would be obliged to pay about $2 per {100 payroll to protect the income of these youngsters. Consider a $50,000 payroll. One may readily see even such a low rate could coat the farm employer a tidy sum It is a b t ridiculous to con sider cov r eg a 12-year-old with workmen's compensation. If he should sprain his ankle in a bean patch, it would be interesting to see the paper work and settlement offered the child Would he he paid the minimum amount until he is able to take up his regular third base position on the local sand lot? These are some of the small problems facing the designers of new workmen's compensa tion legislation But they are I problems of very real conceit to the farmers who must pay the hill. —Oregon Farm Bureau - Â | We give S&H G reen Stam ps A le x a n d e r IH A RDW AR EI C en tral Point 24 Hour Service at Central Point ENCO Or Call 6 6 4 - 3 4 0 9 For Free Pickup & Delivery Try Our Money -Saver.Service FREE Glasses with a flil-up (8 gallon minimum) Lube Job & Car Wash $2.99 SWIFTS PPENHUM ,LB oo ROLL & M M Jilt 1 U'VtIN BANANAS 2 us. 29 SYRUP 2 2 OZ. & OTELE 29, 4 0 0 COUNT BOX FACIAL 2 TISSUE USDA PIES -ALL VARIETIES 2 9 TOILET TISSUE POLL PACK 29 nWHPEggfGD CHOICE SALAD DRESSING- ROUND STEAK U S D A CHOICE T-BONE STEAK gj QT.
