GREETINGS!
Another year has become history.
1929. while not a howling success as a business year
has not been as bad as many former years. The business
conditions appear better now than they have for several
years. Many public improvements are planned. New peo­
ple are coming to our valleys—new homes are being built
new mines and mills are opening. In fact, the general
trend seems toward a bigger and better year in 1930.
We can see no room to fret—the time for advance­
ment is at hand and surely there are many industries that
should flourish in these valleys and should the new indus­
tries come they will bring new residents, more stores and
more farmers.
We believe that this city, state and nation has much
good in store for each and the present year will find many
visions realized.
W ith the passing of the old and the advent of the new
year we cannot help feeling somewhat sentimental. We
have enjoyed a fair year and are looking forward to bet­
ter things. We expect our town to grow and we, expect
to extend the services of our publication and make it more
of a necessity in the lives of our people. We feel that our
past efforts have been rewarded by the additional patrons
we have added to our lists and it is with a feeling of pride
that we have been accorded this splendid support and only
hope that we will be able to give added service* to many
more this coming year.
May the blessings of health, happiness and prosperity
be the lot of each of our many friends throughout the new
year, is our sincere wish to you all.
