Uncle Sam and His Folks
LMrs. R. E. Stanley, Tillamook.]
Patriotism ! Well, I guess so. Uncle Sam and his folks
Were never found slow, except to anger. They’ll take and take,
And stand a whole lot for sweet peace sake.
And .ace we m ust have, but not at any old cost,
For peace without honor is honor lo s t!
Now, if Germany or any other nation on earth
W ants anything of us for what it is worth,
W e’re ready and waiting, like time in its flight,
And if she succeeds, she’ll have a peach of a fight.
Uncle Sam ’s airships can sail in the air,
Ana any Germans buzzing around will find us right there.
We can even run a Ford where big cars can’t go.
Who said Uncle Sam and his folks were slow ?
And they’ll find th at w herever "Old Glory” flies
His folks will stand pat till the last hero dies.
Uncle Sam and his folks never took to the woods—
When there’s any thing stirring w e're there with the goods.
From the north and the south, from the west to the east,
Full grown, half size, greatest and least.
From the Rio to St. Lawrence, from San Diego to Nome,
Uncle Sam and his folks are always at home.
