Clark left for Ashland Sunday morning, where Mrs. Clark will visit relatives and from where Mr. Clark departed for Canada Sunday evening. Mr. Clark will prob ably locate in Canada. Commissioner Frank H. Madden ar rived from Seattle Sunday morning. Mrs. Freeman, Sr., who spent the winter here with son, W. J. Freeman and family, left Saturday morning for Chico, Cal.,to visit another son. Mrs. Jean Childers of Klamath county is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. F. williams in this city. J. D. Van Horn left for Bremerton navy yards Saturday morning where he had been ordered to report for duty as storekeeper. Mrs. W. C Kinney spent the last few days here at the bedside of her little aon, who has been quite ill, but is now rapidly recovering. The ladies’ Embroidery club of Cen tral Point were entertained by Mrs. J W. Merrit one day the past week at Mrs. Merrit's Gold Hill home. Prof. Stanley and Prof. Davis a t tended the teachers meeting at Kogue River Saturday. This will enable the land office to protect the entryman against contest of his entry for failure to make proof, if Congress shall grant relief from residence while in the service.
