CENTRAL POINT WINS \ A very large crowd, considering the bad weather, witnessed the last of the championship basket ball games last Saturday evening. Jacksonville did not uphold their good name at all ac cording to the very one-sided scores of both the boy's and girl’s games. Their boys had beaten every team in the as- sDelation except Phoenix, so we thought they would put up a pretty good scrap. They did play pretty rough and fast at first, but our boys were equal to it and soon wore them out, then ran up a big score and beat them at their own game. Score at the end of the first half, 4 to 5; second half 27 to 5. River and our girls expected an inter esting game at least, but were sadly disappointed. Jacksonville started out all right and got a field basket the first thing, but that was their share and all they got. Our girls simply out-clas sed them in all departments of the game. Score 32 to 2. Our girls now and again claim the championship of the secondary schools of the valley and the boys came out second, being defeated only by Phoenix. Now Medford and Ashland had better beware. We were very much pleased with the games with the Medford girls last week. Thursday we took them by surprise and beat them 10 to 7. Med ford wasn’t satisfied and wanted to come back Friday. We had a cham pionship game the next night so didn’t care much about playing, but late Fri day evening they decided to go on con dition that Medford would give them a return game here, so the girls hustled down and found them all prepared for the onslaught. Not knowing what an easy game they had the next night, our girls endeavored to conserve their strength which together with a little bad luck caused our defeat. Medford thinks they got even but wait until Centra! Point gets them up here with a full team playing. As a preliminary a freshman team from Medford, played a pick up scrub team of high school boys. This was the most exciting and interesting game of the evening. The rules were altered until they more resembled football and the players went in for blood. The A carload of Willamette Valley oats Medford boys were much larger and was received yesterday by Ralph Wal had practised and played together while do Ellen. our boys were only pick ups and had Col.
