Important Measures to be
Presented at Present
Session of Legislature.
H. T. Pankey returned Sunday from
Corvallis, where he addressed ths stu
dents o f the short course classes at the
Oregon Agricultural College last Friday
evening. Mr. Pankey is rather modest
in talking o f the meeting which be ad
dressed, but when interviewed it de
veloped that he was the only speaker
at that session and that the audience
was a large one.
There have been many improvements
at the college since Mr. Pankey’ s last '
visit there, two years ago, and the
practical work in agriculture, horticul-
ture, mechanics and other live and
modern topics is greater there than at
any similar institution in the United
States. A s evidence o f that fact Mr.
Pankey states that there are students
at Corvallis this Winter taking the short
course from many states as far east as
Illinois.
