School began September 14th, with
the following teachers: Mrs. Purkey-
pile, 1st grade; Miss Murphy, 2nd-3rd
grades; Mias Tompson, 4th grade; Miss
Chapman, 5th grade; Miss Aiken, 6th
grade; Miss Mahn, Tth-sth grades; Prof.
Cooper, high school.

215 pupils and increased to 268 during
the first month. The school is badly
crowded« especially in the 1st, 7th and
8th grades, there being only enough
space in those class rooms for the
teachers to turn around There is an
enrollment o f 27 in the high school and
it is expected to be run up, to 35 shortly.
