Prohibitionists may ridicule the opin­ ion of these eminent lawyers, but any one who will take the trouble to con­ sult a lawyer can easily determine the exact status ot the Medford charter and satisfy himself beyond the peradven- ture o f a doubt that that burg is very apt to remain wet, whatever the out­ come of the election may be. Nowitbstanding the security of Med­ ford from any probability of drouth, the citizens are making a most strenuous effort to carry the county wet, believing that prohibition throughout the county would mean a most serious setback to the splendid prosperity that seems just now to be in the ascendancy.
