N. Jerry, the well-known mining
man, wae exhibiting a small cabinet of
big, beautiful nuggets, from the Wil-
ow Springs district, in town Monday
morning that is by far the handsomest
collection of big chunks of virgin gold
the writer has seen in many years.
The collection weighs $1522.00, and
gives something of an idea of the
.mineral riches of that district. Mr.
Jerry aspects to leave soon on another
Eastern trip on business connected
with the development of mining prop
erties near Central Point and it may
Ce added that he and his associates are
doing great work along that line.
Revs. McHenry and Shield, the tem
perance campaigners, lectured in the
schoolhouse Wednesday evening. A
large crowd was present to hear them
denounce the saloons, which they did
to a finish. The Anti-Saloon petition
was sighed by nearly all the voters
present, and if they make good at the
election in June, Table Rock will be so
dry our women folks won’t be able to
get alcohol for their camphor bottles
But men don’t always vote as the>
pray.

The Larrabee farm, betler known to
old timers in the valley as the old
Leever homestead, was sold last Tues
day evening to A. J. Dunlap, who had
arrived only a day or two before with
his family and a carload of personal
property from Olney, Illinois. The
consideration was $16,000.00. The
place is fairly well improved, with
about 30 acres already in fruit Mr.
Dunlap was here last August looking
over the country and while he did not
buy anything at that time he satisfied
himself that this country suited him
and when he got his affairs arranged
in Illinois he loaded bag and baggage
and came to Central Point.
The Larrabees bought this place two
years ago for $6,000.00 and the advance
at which they sold is not unusual in the
Rogue Rivey Valley during that time.
