An important mining deal was closed here during the week when Dr. A. W. Holcomhe and F. W. Fredericks, capi talists o f Kokomo, Indiana, purchased outright a group o f promising quartz claims in Willow Springs district, from John Harrington, Jaa. Irwin and L. E. VanVleit. They also bought a saw mill and 240 acres o f good timber in the same district, from S. W. McClendon. The sawmill will be put in operation at once and as soon as lumber is available extensive development work will be commenced on the mining property and pushed with all possible speed. The purchasers are men o f ample means and large experience in mining. Thev were former associates o f Mr. Harrington in eastern Oregon camps and through him made some very profit able investments. Their advent as ac tive operators here is o f more than ordinary interest. The deals are being consumated thro’ the Central. Point State Bank. Webb, was rendered unconscious by a bolt of lightning which followed the light wires into the house.
