week, been reported engaged to
a chorus girl, and has been ini
tiated into the order of Dickey
boys at Harvard. This entitles
Him* to a. position in the lime
light and to have his picture in
the daily papers.
A. Portland minister said in a
sermon last Sunday that "godli
ness pays even in politics.”
Wonder how he made this dis
covery? It hasn’t appeared in
any recently published news
paper or magazine article touch
ing on politics and politicians
that any American politician has
tried the experiment.
While the Hood River Valley
and the Willamette: Valley are
scrapping about the excellence
of their apples, the epicures of
the world are busily muncing the
Rogue River Valley product and
declaring, "Never tasted any

after all, that’s what counts.

Four examinations will be held during
the year 1907, as follows:
