The "bicycle face’ ’ is the latest d is-;
case. It is caused by trying to look j
pleasant while riding a bicycle over a
rough pavement.
The only way to ted a woman’s age
is to first ask her and then add one-
third to the number she gives you.
The Ashland doctor who was called
up the other night to administer to an
editor of that town who was suffering
from cramps, discovered later that the
editor was also cramped for cash.
A lady who was delivering a temper
ance lecture in Grants Pass the other
evening picked up the bible, exclaim
ing, " I will throw this bible at the
nan who is mean to his w ife!” Every
nan sitting in the front row ducked
kiss bead. Of course this was not a
confession of guilt on their part; they
evidently knew that a woman couldn’t
throw straight.
A M edford man took some shirts to
a Chinese laundry in that town the
other day to have them washed. The
man was told to call for them Saturday
night. He didn’t call for them until
Sunday morning. He was told they
were not ready yet. “ You told me to
call for them last night,” said the man.
"Y es, but you didn’t call for them last
night,” said the cunning Chinaman.
A Grants Pass editor ate a lot of
apples the other day, and while on his
way home from the office that evening
he was taken with a severe pain in the
region of the bread-basket which caused
him to double up like a jack-knife and
perform many queer antics. A crowd
that was watching him from the hotel
clapped their hands and in a chonn
shouted, "Bravo! Epatant! Good! Bon!
Outofsight! Ripping! Merveilleux!”
“ Great nutmegs,” gasped the editor,
“ the fools think I ’m doing a stunt.”
