are at work removing the obstruction
but with the best possible progress sev

Meantime trains are running to Mott
from the north and to Dunsmuir from
the south and the wagon transfers
made between these points five miles
apart.
It is said the railroad company has
repeatedly offered to purchase Branstet-
ter'a property as a matterof protection
and has offered him as much as $6000
for the place, which it is generally con
ceded is much more than it is worth for
the returns it will yield its owner year
