price, develop our resources and in
crease our wealth.
The Rogue River Valley Develop
ment league does not take the place o f
or conflict with any commercial body
or any section o f the valley, but its
object is to aid and assist impartially
every commercial body and every por
tion o f the valley. How does it do
this?
First—More money can be raised In
the entire valley than in any one por
tion o f it.
Second—This money will be expended
for advertising and other purposes as
the executive board, composed o f men
from all portions o f the valley, shall
decide.
Third—The advertising will begotten
up by committees from all parts o f the
ralley, ihat everything may be fair and
cnpartial.
Fourth—Supposing some one town
should decide that it would rather do
its own advertising; as a result, the
homeHeeker would come there and look
over the town; next he would look over
the rest o f the valley, and might locate
outside o f the town doing the adver
tising. In this manner other towns
and other sections reap the advantage
without expense. It is for this very
reason that each town and each section
o f the valley should donate its share of
the total expense, that we may equally
bear the burden and equally reap the
reward.
F ifth—Copies o f all letters aad in
quiries from homeseekers will be sent
to each commercial organization in the
valley; also a monthly statement o>f re
ceipts and expenditures; also a full re-
port o f just what the league is doing.
S ix th -T h e league is working active-
ly upon the following important things:
1. The opening up and sale o f rail-
road lands.
2. The lessening o f freight rates.
5. The building o f new railroads.
4. The building o f good roads in the
valley and o f a macadamized road from
Portland to the California line (in con
nection with other counties) to connect
with the California macademized road
to San Diego.
I. Water for irrigation and pure
water supply for towns and villages.
6. A system of parks and swimming
tanks for towns and villages, together
with gymnasium apparatus for the
physical culture o f children, and various
amusement devises to keep children off
the streets.
7. Training schools for the different
trades; horticulture, gardening, busi
ness colleges, cooking schools, and do
mestic science for the girls.
It you have any inquiries to make, if
you have any suggestions to make, if
you know or hear o f anything that is
good for the outside world to know, if
you have $2.60 to spare, send it in to
day to the president or secretary o f the
Rogue River Valley Development
league. Write letters and send in pe
titions to your county judge and com
missioners. Ask them to appropriate
at least $2.000 for the advertising and
benefit o f the valley. Stop knocking,
and become a "B ooster,” thereby in
areasing your happiness and wealth
and that o f your neighbor and country.
"Ju st try it for a week and you will
ever thereafter be a 'B ooster.’ "
Now, All together! Ail the time! Pull
together for the United Rogue River
Valley.
