had opposition.
Senator Jay H. Upton of Bend, who
waa president of the senate at the

a caucus SUnday night to call the
aenate to order. Ordinarily this duty
falls to the oldest member in point of
service, but this was Senator Moser,
who la to be president, ao Upton was
