Albert is a large parlor located on
the second floor at the head of
the stairs. Th»s room has been
newly carpeted and new shades
hung at the windows, and is pro
vided with a piano, restful chairs,
rugs, couch and writing table. It
will prove popular with the fem
inine guests and travelers, provid
ing a central place at which to
meet their friends.
An entirely new annex to the
hotel has been built over the old
building, making the original
building now three stories and a
basement. In the new part, as
well as all the.older rooms, new
furniture has been placed includ
ing the best of mattresses and bed
coverings and appropriate furn
ishings. The rooms are also sup
plied with an abundance of steam
heat and hot and cold running
water as well as a telephone
vice.
ser
A noticeable difference in the
arrangement of the Hotel Albert
is that all inner rooms are pro
vided with more light than ordi
narily is the case.
The well or
court providing light and ven
tilation is covered to exclude rain
and snow, but allows free passage
of air while the windows opening
from the court are provided with
fire wire glass.
Another item worthy of men
tion is the arrangement that pro
vides full ventilation each morn
ing after the rooms are vacated,
thus displacing the foul air with a
fresh supply. This system applies
to all parts of the building.
