a water plant and buildings. The
purchaser says he intends to build
up a manufacturing town with
people who prefer a mild climate.
The towp was originally platted
as a manufacturing town by a res
ident of Tbe Dalles and people
came from tbe east to develop
new industries, but local opposi
tion ruined the project.
