Apple Packers Trained.
Hood Riser.—Beginning the second
week in September, the annual pack
ing school of -the Apple Growers’ as
sociation will hold its sessions.
A portion of the big warehouse of
the association will be fitted with
packing tables and expert packers
will instruct the amateurs, who will
come from all parts of the mid-Co
lumbia district.
The annual packing schools are al
ways well attended. Many of the
growers of the valley, whose orchards
are coming into bearing, attend with
their wives and families to learn the
latest methods of packing attractively
the^apples, which will soon be matur
ing.
