T h e state is d iv id e d this year
in to three districts, thus placing
this co u n ty in c o m p e titio n w ith
those o f the same c lim a tic c o n d i
tions. Each county
e x h ib itin g
w ill be a llow ed $100 by the Stale
F a ir B oard, and in a d d itio n IO
this m oney it is possible fo r the
co u n ty to capture $200 in cash
prizes.
M r. T o z ie r states that as a good
e x h ib it w ill be prepared fo r the
hom e fa ir the same display can be
sent to Salem and returned in
tim e fo r show ing here. As an in
ducem ent to the ch ild re n to take
an interest in th e ir hom e fairs the
State F a ir B oard w ill entertain
the tw o fro m each county w ho
score the highest in th e ir indus
tria l exhibits. T h e ch ild re n w ill
be a d m itted to the shows, grand
stand, etc., and w ill be well cared
fo r w h i’e away fro m home.
It is the belief o f the F air Board
that 60,000 people w ill visit the
State F a ir this fa ll, and an e x h ib it
made by this county w ill prove
an excellent advertisem ent fo r a
county that is destined to become
rich in diversified farm ing.
Since the last State F air fo u r
miles of tilin g have been placed
in the center field o f the race
track m aking it possible to train
on that track the entire year. A t
this tim e there are sixty horses in
tra in in g . A new p a v ilio n is under
way w hich when com pleted w ill
be 243x120 feet. In this b u ild in g
w ill be housed the exhibits fro m
the several counties, the entire
low er p o rtio n to be given to them .

same am ount o f space as the o th
ers. T h e fourteen big stock barns
w ill be fille d . Free attractions
w ill be m ore than ever before.
In the o ld p a v ilio n w ill be shown
the exhibits fro m the c h ild re n ’s
industrial fairs.

county to make an excellent dis
play at the State F a ir and receive
in return m oney enough to m ore
than pay expenses.
