Tke Death-Dealing Crank. Some of Hatdio’s Gash Prices Morning Oregonian A man was killed at Astoria on the 14th, w M ie cranking the engine on a gasolene schooner, and in Portland on the 15th an auto mobile machinist had his wrist broken in two places in a sim ilar accident. T h e frequency of these accidentals such that it is surprising that the inventive genius o f man has not devised some safer m eth ods for starting the gasolene engine than the use of the death-dealing crank. _ Ceastitutional Right of Free Speech. Mr. and Mrs. Urqu hart responded, expressing sincere thanks, in a very feeling manner, bringing a dewy mist in many a soft eye. Excellent refreshments were then served in a very dainty and appropriate manner, and all drank delicious orange punch to the health of the bride and groom, and wondered why on earth there really any batchelors or Batchelor maids. Mr. and Mrs. Urquhart are both prominent in Masonic work, both being important of ficers in the Masonic and Eastern Star lodges. Their eldest son is now in the Oregon Agricultural College, in his second year, with a bright future before him; the eldest daughter attending Moro high school. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urquhart celebrated the twentieth annivers ary of their marriage, at their res idence, at Erskinville, last Satur day evening, the weather being tine for the occasion. Their large parlors were appropriately and ar tistically decorated with white wedding bells and white chrysan- thumums, gifts from Portland friends. The bride was gowned in pure white* her pretty brown hair being lightly and prematurely touched with silver, she made a l»retty picture with her yet hand some and stalwart partner. Mr. Ladrue Barnum, of Moro, kindly responded to an invitation to perform the marriage ceremony.
