W e have often told the story of a
hail siorm which struck a train we
w ere in, crossing N ebraska in the
spring of 1680,en route to the conven

president, and have as often been
suspected of ‘yarning’ about i t Bui
history repeats itself, and last Sunday
a tornado quite like the one described
struck pretty much the same territo
ry, and it is reported that hail stones
as large as tin cups fell. A strip of
country 100 yards wide and 65 miles
long, was completely devastated.
