down to the Deschutes river over
the new fishing road last Supday
to see how the road was holding
up in the winter weather. It
said to be really a good mountain
road and with some improve
ments in the spring will make it
possible for everyone to try for
fish in the Deschutes.

George Updegraff was appoint
ed city attorney of The Dalles by
the recently elected mayor How
ard Dent Jr. Mr. Updegraff has
acted as city attorney for both
Wasco and Moro in recent years
and has recently moved to The
Dalles to open a new title office.
Mr. and Mrs. Giles French left
today, Friday, for Salem to start
the 44th session of the Oregon
Legislature.
The Missionary society held Its
regular meeting Wednesday after
noon at the home of Mrs. Roy
Belshee with about thirty mem
bers present.
Mr. and Mrj3. Paul May were
called to Hood River last week
end upon word that Mr. May’s
grandmother, Mrs. L. M. Webber
had suffered a heart attack.
