Mrs, R. W. Pinkerton suffered a
stroke of paralysis while visiting
her daughter, Mrs. Charles Poole
in The Dalles last Saturday and is
still' confined to her daughter's
home there.

Mrs. Harriet Whalley drove up
from Portland Wednesday to re­
turn. her daughter, Laura to her
home* there after a short visit here
with relatives.
Erwin B. Lemon, registrar at
Oregon State, was here last Friday
to look over his ranch southeast^ of
Grass Valley.
L. 'R .French came up from Port­
land Tuesday to spend a few days
in the county on business. Thurs­
day he drove to his farm in Gil­
liam and Morrow counties.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McKenny
of ; Portland spent Sunday with
Mrs. Jessie Henrichs. Mrs. Mc-
Kepny is a niece of Mrs. Henrichs.
Mrs. Don Clodfelter and children
spent Tuesday visiting with Mrs.
Lucy Ruggles.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hughes
were here last week end from Los
Gatos, Cal., where they are living
