For the most part they are ordinary men interested in making a living and getting along in the world. None of them know what is the best thing to do. They will merely do the best they can to settle grave problems. They will be influenced by groups com bined for selfish purpose; their own preconceived notions will effect their decisions and political expediency will dictate their vote in some cases. These things are to be expected It is safe to assume that the legislators will welcome any hon est opinion given them about the bills on which they must vote. It is rather unfair to criticize a representative for not seeing eye to eye with all his constituents In this crisis in the affairs of the state everyone should feel free to contribute his or her ideas to the legislators for what it may be worth. Those men are not going to please everyone. In many cases they will not even please themselves but will accept that solution that comes nearest their belief It is not an easy position for the problems that beset us are well nigh insolvable at the present ---------- O---------- • A position as head of the Oregon board of higher education is almost as lasting as that as president of Cuba. ---------- o---------- Evidently the administration wants to give everyone a govern ment job. that your dyspepsf aastedated our marriage. • 1 Sufferer—I have a terribel tooth ache and wish somebody could sug gest some thing to rettvee the pain.
