THE 9RERMAN COUNTY JOURNAL PAGE 4 »JJLL I « JW----- L I ------ yj-JL - Domestic Wheat Crop A xiomsetic winter wheat crop of only 334,000,000 bushels this season waa indicated by the April 1 condi tion of 59.4 per cent of normal. T^jis would be the smallest production of winter wheat since 1904. Very heavy abandonment is reported in the West- ; ern Great Plains and in the Pacific Northwest. For the country as a whole, it is expected that about 30 percent of the acreage sown last Fall has been or will be abandoned. Onlj about one third of an average crop is in prospect in Kansas or Nebraska, about half of a crop in Oklahoma and Texas and about one sixth of an ave rage crop in Colorado. In the Pacific Northwest about a half crop is indi cated for Washington and one third of a crop for Oregon.
