H e knew B urton had a le tte r from a cousin who was In America, and in g reat poverty; th a t m ight have upset him. On th e m orning of the ISth Inst. Mrs. Johnson, Sir H en ry ’s housekeep er, came to him in g reat alarm , and asked him to come a t once to B urton’s room.
