THE DRIVE ENDS
Tho drive for tho United War
Work Fund closed last evening
and it Ib confidently expected
that Eagle Valley mado Rood and
raised its quota of $2250, but as
some of the solicitors have not
yet turned in their receipt books
the total cannot be given ut this
time. ,
Now Bridge raised her sharo in
a short litno and a glance at the
list below shows that the people
of that district gave to the limit.
The other districts of the Valley
wore slow to respond and it has
taken a lot of hard work to ac
complfsh what has been done.
Herewith is Riven the list avail
able up to last evening; we will
give the remainder in our next
issue. It will be noticed that
some names appear more than
once they gavo and gave again.

THANKSGIVING DAY
What shall We in Eagle Valley
do this ThanKSgiving Day?
Only another week and our
National Thanksgiving Day will
be here. Shall we celebrate it in
the-ppirit that we should at this,',
the most momentous hoBr of our
nation's history?
Since the founding of this na
tion we have always had many
reasons for the observance of a
Especial day of Thanksgiving, and
since the first day the people of,
our nation were called together
for a thanksgiving service there
have been many to respond to the'
call year by year, but never be
fore were there so many hearts
devoutly thankful to Almighty
Gcd'.forall blessipgs and benefits;
Why not all oUr citizens co
operate with the churches in a
grand union Thanksgiving service
next Thursday, Nov. 28th? An,
hour could be set that would be
convenient to alh a suitable pro
gram arranged, and we are con
fident that the meeting would' re
sult in much benefit.
