It appears that she had added a caji of lye to one kettle of boiling grease and was reaching over it to stir the contents of an other when the first one exploded from some unknown cause( throw ing a quantity of the boiling mass into her face; First aid remedies were applied and Dr. Wilsdn summoned. It was found that while the injury was exceedingly painful the burns were not deep and that few if any scars will result.
