One of tho men. named Fred Werner, claims to bo an Austrian but is believed tq bo a German. He had made many treasonable utterances and had threatened to set lire to the buildings and to blow up the mines. It has been that he is a member of tho I. W. W., enrolled under the name of Fred Wilezek. The other gives his nams as Anton Lo:cz and claims to be a Spaniard, but it is believed that he its a Mexican. He oponly de clared his enmity to the United States but made no threats. He had over ?G00 in cash on his per son when searched. Just what will be done with the men is not yet known but the matter has been reported to the United States District Attorney. Preceding and following Mrs. Kemp's addresf, Miss May Mur phy, homo demonstration agent, spoke briefly on the need of more cooperation among the farmers, In all the meeting was a great success and thoso who failed to attond misBed a treat. Come Out Saturday Night Interest in tho Home Guard is increasing at each meeting and more than twenty were present Saturday night. John W. Pat terson was elected temporary first lieutenant and will have charge of the drill work until the organ ization is completed and perma nent officers elected. At the next meeting it is to be hoped that many others will come forward and fill out enlistment blanks so that a report may be sent to county headepjarters and arrangements be made to secure a larger room for drilling pur poses. Help the Red Cross Ua!.r Chapter has a canteen committee whoso duty it is to distribute fruit, etc., to the sol diers who are on the troop trains which go through the county seat almost daily now. The chair man of this committee has asked if theve are any people in Eagle Valley who would like to help in this work by sending apples to be given tho boys on the trains. If you wish to contribute one or more boxes kindly notify Mrs. Winter Wright at once. Attend the snle at New Bridge next Monday.
