What might have been a serious ac
cident »a s narrowly averted yesterday
when little Arlene Btiverson was run
over by the Woods mail wagon. It
seems the children have been in the
habit of catching on the ' back of
the rig when it comes to the
postoffice and in some way she fell
under it and the hind wl «el passed over
her. Fortunately she escaped with a
few bruises.

The Della is making experimental fish
ing trips outside of 'lillamook. She
made tier first trip this week and came
in Wednesday with a nice load of sal
mon, halibut and a few of the other deep
sea varities. There is a crew of live on
hoard and the captain said that all hut
two were desperately sick as it was
pretty rough outside, but taken as a
w hole it » is considered a very success
ful trip. The Della, it is expected, will
make aibusiness of deep sea tishing this
season. As a result of the first trip Mr.
Kay brought from Tillamook a tine
specimen of halibut and his friends here
are enjoying a treat todnv at his expense.
