That Cloverdale has among its citi
zens clever actors and actresses was fully
demonstrated last Thursday evening
when the drama, "A Woman’ s Honor” ,
was nlaved to the largest house ever
had in Cloverdale.
The play was full of surprising and in-
eresting situations, dealing with a de
faulting banker, whc wishes his eldest
daughter to marry a wealthy island
owner, whose money he has lost on bad
speculations, that he might be spared
the punishment that would he meted
out to him.
The banker’s part was a short one,
for no sooner had the match been ar
ranged than the banker shuffles off to
the undiscovered country. This part
was taken by E. L. McCabe, togged out
in a costume to suit the occasion.
The eldest daughter marries the man
who saved the honor of her father and
his family, although «bi> is in l?ve with
a young physician, who after learning of
his sweetheart’s betrothal leaves for the
south seas to make a fortune and a repu
tation for himself. Forrest Gist took
